A Summary of Day 1: written by Guest Bloggers, Kathy & Bruce
Our adventure began as we stepped off the 16 passenger plane onto the sandy runway and into Brian and Stephanie's world. Brian's big smile and welcoming hug were as warm as the air around us. His body had changed some, more muscular and he was dark brown; he looked happy and healthy.
A short walk to the dinghy and a ride over the turquoise sea took us to Rode Trip and another beautiful smile and warm hug from a woman I hardly recognized as Stephanie. Also fit, tanned and excited, we were welcomed aboard and they helped to settle us in.
Swimming, snorting pigs made us laugh; call us brave or stupid, but we have pictures to show we got up close and personal.
The four of us squeezed into our new friend, the dinghy and watched as Brian demonstrated his latest skill and speared a Lionfish. Yes, the one with the toxic spines. No worries, we had a bucket to contain the poisonous fish. Bruce, brave once again, and with spear in hand entered the deep aqua sea. I wish you could've heard Bruce surface with his catch, breathless and excited with Brian saying "Isn't it fun?"
