We’re only 2 days out now, but a lot of progress has been made in the last few days. The boomkin is now completely attached and ready to go.
This weekend Bruce and Kathy came up to Amesbury for one last sleepover at Whittier meadows. We ate, drank, were merry and worked hard! My dad and I worked on installing our oversized solar panel. We spent a little bit of time trying to figure out if we would be able to install the panel on the brand new boomkin, and then decided to go with the “easier” option of installing it over the hatch. We hurried over to the lumber store just before they closed on Saturday and bought enough white oak to build a frame. A stop to visit Darren and borrow his table saw quickly turned our lumber into the pieces that we would need. Assembly went very smoothly, here is my dad with half of the frame.
We didn’t hit any snags, and Sunny came by to see the boat later in the day and helped with final assembly.
The propane tank box was mounted on the outside of the boomkin today, and the plumbing for our water tanks was completed as well. That is a lot of checks off our checklist!
